IdeaSpace Successfully Holds The Technopreneur Boot Camp in Northern Mindanao!
January 3, 2014 – Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines – In partnership with Xavier University- Ateneo de Cagayan, DEVCON, ICT Council-CDO and through Smart Communications, IdeaSpace Foundation, Inc. held the Technopreneur Boot Camp in Northern Mindanao!
IdeaSpace Foundation, Inc. conducted the Technopreneur Boot Camp in Northern Mindanao last December 13, 2013 at Xavier University- Ateneo de Cagayan Little Theater.
The said event was participated by Students, Professionals, Aspiring Startups, Startup Founders and early Graduates in the Northern Mindanao. They were treated to a morning of technology and business talks from industry experts and startup founders. It was started by Mr. Dustin RJ Masancay, the Associate Director of Ideaspace who is known in creating great impact in the lives of the Filipinos by bringing new opportunities for employment through entrepreneurship and startups. Afterwhich, the rest of the Start Up founders took turn in sharing their brilliant ideas.

- Mr. Philip Adrian Atilano, Time Free Innovations – Talked about “Business Model Canvas”
- Ms. Rina Malonzo & Ms. Trina Dela Rama, MNL Portfolios – Talked about “Creating a Good Brand”
- Engr. Elpidio Paras, Proprietor Parasat Cable TV – Talked about his Start Up success story in the Technology Industries
During lunch break, the participants of the Start-Up Idea Pitching Competitions had a brainstorming with the mentors before the final competition began.
The afternoon session started with the Start-Up Idea Pitching Competition. The first batch to pitch were the WildCards. They were given 1-minute to pitch their product. The top 2 of the WildCards are the Time Tracker System and the Rewards System. They qualified to join the finals.
During the Final Pitching Competition, the participants were also given 1 minute to pitch their respective products. Plus, another 1 minute for the question and answer from the judges who were also the speakers.
The winners of the Start-Up Idea Pitching Competition were:
- 3rd place – FreeSource
- 2nd place – Grocery Box
- 1st place – GrabLight
They received cool prizes and were awarded for those great Start-Up Ideas.
Moreover, the Technopreneur Boot Camp of IdeaSpace in collaboration with other technopreneurship advocates is their way of presenting to the community level the importance of technology and innovation as the keys to transform ideas into reality.
It was indeed a very educational and fun-filled day for those who attended the Boot Camp. They learned a lot from the speakers and were even inspired to be more innovative and to find opportunities even in our irritants. According to one of the speakers “There is opportunity in crisis.”
