CDO ICT Council organizes TechSpark: Innovations for a Better CDO
Cagayan de Oro City (June 26, 2015) — In celebration of DOST-ICTO’s 2015 ICT Month with the theme “Internet for All: No Juan Left Behind”, TechSpark was inspired and conceptualized.
“TechSpark: Innovations for a Better CDO” aims to raise awareness to people about tech innovation and introduction on how tech could help improve people’s lives and also create an environment of technopreneurship in Cagayan De Oro.
Specifically, it aims to:
expose key influencers such as students, teachers, local businesses on the importance of technology and how it could help improve our lives;
raise awareness and exposure to tech start-ups
introduce innovation and the use of technology
promote technopreneurship concept/program through talks
THE PROGRAM FLOW (June 26, 2015)
9AM Motorcade started at Amphitheater, Divisoria going to Limketkai Center.
10:30AM Ribbon cutting ceremony was graced by Usec. Louis Napoleon Casambre, Executive Director of DOST-ICTO, along with Deputy Executive Director Bettina Quimson, DOST-ICTO FOO-Mindanao Cluster 2 Director Evamay dela Rosa, CDO ICT Business Council President Stephanie Caragos and its Vice-President Todd Grannis.
Welcome remarks was given by Todd Grannis to open the event. Event rationale was explained by Startup CDO Chairman Marl Ian Dionaldo.
12PM Exhibit now formally open to the public. Videobenta.com, Oppo, and Scribbles were given airtime to present their exhibits on-stage.
1:30PM Tech wars, organized by Geek Wars and sponsored by Redlemon Digital Media.
Digital Illustration Expo, with artists from OBRA Creative Designers Community in CDO.
3PM Innovation talks (open to all)
Samuel Dychangco Jr., Business Development Manager of SpeedFusion Networks talked about the new networking equipment of the next generation to solve connectivity issues.
Jonathan Doblados, Community Manager of Google Business Group-CDO talked about Google My Business.
Duchess Domagsang, Academic Programs Specialist of Microsoft Philippines talked about
Windows 10 and its key features.
Marx Consuegra, Founder of Davao Graphic Designers Community, talked about UX.
Videos from partners such as Google Business Group-CDO, CLIX.com.ph, Techtalks.ph / Geeks on a Beach, and SpeedFusion Networks were showcased as well.
5:00PM Culminating activity program
Opening remarks was given by CDO ICT Business Council President Stephanie Caragos,
thanking all partners for the support leading to the success of the event.
Deputy Executive Director Bettina Quimson gave a short message during the culminating activity. Also, Mr. Elpie Paras gave a quick talk about the success of ICT in CDO.
The closing message was given by Startup CDO Chairman Mr. Marl Ian Dionaldo, thanking everybody for the success of the event and the support of all partners involved.
